PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR
The Production Supervisor is responsible for the direct oversight, coordination, and execution of aircraft maintenance activities under the authority of the Director of Maintenance (DOM) in accordance with 14 CFR Part 145 and other applicable Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs). This role ensures all assigned maintenance is performed in a safe, compliant, and efficient manner while maintaining aircraft airworthiness, supporting operational goals, and delivering exceptional customer experience. The Production Supervisor is accountable for workforce supervision, workflow management, and adherence to regulatory, technical, and company standards within their span of control.
Responsibilities & Duties
Regulatory Compliance & Safety
• Ensure all maintenance activities comply with applicable FAA regulations (Part 43, Part 145) and company manuals (RSM/QCM)
• Verify accuracy and completeness of maintenance documentation, logbook entries, and work orders
• Provide required supervision of certificated and non-certificated personnel per FAA regulations
• Ensure preliminary inspections are completed or properly assigned prior to the start of maintenance work
• Enforce OSHA safety standards and Million Air safety policies
• Support audits, inspections, and corrective action initiatives
Aircraft & Maintenance Operations
• Assign, prioritize, and oversee scheduled and unscheduled maintenance tasks
• Monitor workflow and adjust manpower to meet production schedules and deadlines
• Ensure proper execution of maintenance procedures using approved technical data
• Ensure required equipment and materials are available on-site and under the repair station's control during maintenance activities
• Ensure tools and equipment used are those specified by the manufacturer or FAA-acceptable equivalents
• Support Aircraft on Ground (AOG) situations as required
• Maintain shift turnover logs and ensure continuity between shifts
Facility & Ground Operations Maintenance
• Maintain readiness of housing, facilities, equipment, materials, and technical data required to perform authorized work
• Ensure availability of proper processes and adequately trained personnel to support maintenance operations
• Ensure hangar, ramp, and work areas are maintained in a clean, safe, and organized conditions
• Oversee proper use and care of tools, equipment, and ground support equipment (GSE)
Leadership & Team Development
• Supervise, mentor, and develop maintenance personnel
• Determine and recommend initial and recurrent training requirements for assigned employees
• Track and coordinate scheduled training to ensure compliance and competency
• Promote a strong safety-first and compliance-driven culture
• Participate in performance evaluations and employee development initiatives
Planning, Budgeting, & Resources
• Estimate labor hours, materials, and resources required for maintenance activities
• Ensure availability of parts, tools, and equipment to support workflow
• Monitor maintenance progress against schedules and adjust as needed
• Support cost control and efficient resource utilization
Operational Coordination
• Obtain maintenance and inspection program requirements from customers
• Coordinate maintenance activities with Quality Control, Parts, and other departments
• Submit outsourced maintenance functions to the Service Manager in accordance with company procedures
• Communicate maintenance status and updates to leadership as required
• Support planning and scheduling meetings to ensure alignment with operational goals

Reporting Relationship
This position reports to the Director of Maintenance. However, this role works alongside the Chief Inspector, Parts Manager, and Production Supervisors.
Work Environment
This position operates in both office and hangar environments and includes exposure to:

Education, Experience & Qualifications
Required
• FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License
• 8-10 years of aviation maintenance experience
• 3-5 years in a supervisory or lead role
• Working knowledge of FAA regulations (Part 43, Part 135 and Part 145)
• Experience with maintenance tracking software (e.g., Corridor)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Preferred
• Experience in Part 145 repair station environment
• Experience in FBO, corporate aviation, Part 135 or Part 91 operations
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
• Ability to pass background check
• Participation in DOT drug and alcohol testing program
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
